DESCRIPTION:
Helmonil contains
Levamisole HCl, which is a clear, colourless, sterile injectable liquid. It
is a fast acting anthelmintic being active against both adult and larval stages
of G.I. tract and pulmonary round worms. Following administration, the nematodes
are removed rapidly.Levamisole also has an immuno- modulatory effect as it stimulates
the Humoral & Cell mediated Immune system.
INDICATIONS
In cattle
and sheep, it is indicated against the following spp:
In the Abomasum: Haemonchus, Ostertagia and Trichostrongylus spp
In the Intestines : Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Nematodirus,
Oesophagostom, Chabertia and Bunostomum spp. Also effective in sheep against
adult Stronyloides spp.
in the Lungs : Dictyocaulus
spp. including inhibited D.viviparus larvae in cattle.
In pigs, it is highly effective against Ascaris, Hyostrongylus, Oesophagostomum
spp. Strongyloides spp. and Trichuris spp.in the stomach and intestines
and Metastrongylus in the lungs.
ADMINISTRATION
AND DOSAGE
To be administered by I/M or S/C route.
For immuno- modulation,first 3 days of treatment, 3 days gap followed by next
3 days treatment.
As
an anthelmintic: Cattle, sheep, goat & pigs : 1 ml / 16 body weight
As an immunomodulator: Cattle, sheep, goat & Pigs: 1 ml
/ 40 body weight for 3 days followed by 3 day rest again followed by 3 days
of treatment
